WHAT IS THE FEE FOR SUSAN'S MEDIATION SERVICES?
Please call Susan at her direct dial number (310-783-0999) to discuss your case. Susan's fee depends on the number of parties and the length of the mediation.
WHAT IF IT IS NECESSARY TO RESCHEDULE THE MEDIATION?
If the matter is rescheduled for the convenience of a party, there may be a charge for such rescheduling, which will be charged to the party(s) requesting the change.
DOES SUSAN CHARGE FOR TRAVEL TIME AND ADMINISTRATIVE FEES?
Susan never charges administrative fees or for travel time within Los Angeles County. There may be a charge for travel time outside of Los Angeles County. Please call for more information.
WHAT IF MY DISPUTE SETTLES OR IS CONTINUED BEFORE THE DATE OF THE MEDIATION?
Your deposit will be refunded in full if your matter settles or is continued and you notify Susan in writing at least thirty days before the first day of your scheduled mediation. In the event you are unable to give Susan thirty days’ notice of cancellation, she will refund your fees to the extent that she is able to schedule other matters on the day(s) previously reserved for you.
WHERE DOES SUSAN PROVIDE MEDIATION SERVICES?
Susan maintains facilities for mediations at her home/office in Torrance, California and also will be happy to schedule mediations at the office of counsel to one of the parties to the dispute.
DOES SUSAN SPEAK ANY FOREIGN LANGUAGES?
Susan is conversationally fluent in Spanish and somewhat less fluent in French.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE SUSAN'S MEDIATION STYLE?
Different mediation styles are required at different points in the same mediation in order to achieve success. At first, it may be helpful for the mediator simply to facilitate communications between the parties. Later, it may be more important for the mediator to be evaluative in order to help the parties understand the relative merits of their positions. While convening each mediation, Susan talks to the attorneys in order to ascertain their objectives and discover the barriers to success in order to determine which styles will help achieve success. Then she is flexible during the mediation and changes style as the situation requires during the mediation.
HOW IS THE MEDIATION FEE DIVIDED AND PAID?
Mediation fees are divided equally among the parties unless another arrangement is agreed to by the parties or ordered by the court, and payment in full is required once the date of your mediation has been confirmed with all parties.
